.NET can do everything and quickly

.NET is the software platform from Microsoft. It has a long history behind it and was standardized in its current form in 2016. This current incarnation is modern, tidy, comprehensive, stable and runs on Windows, Linux and macOS.

Why .NET?

.NET competes with younger platforms such as Node.js, but is more comparable in scope to well-developed platforms such as Java. .NET is attractive because it comes with a wide range of frameworks out of the box, but is also easy to use. Microsoft has also invested in performance and developer experience.

The areas of application for .NET are as broad as the platform itself:

  • Performance, an active community and state-of-the-art technology make .NET a good all-rounder.
  • APIs of all kinds are a top match, whether gRPC or REST, store or web app.
  • Razor is a component that makes it easy to add functionality to static websites.

HTML-laying C# frameworksau

.NET offers a huge range of tools for creating digital products:

  • several own programming languages, including C#, F# and VB.NET
  • runs on Mac, Linux and Windows
  • similarly extensive as the Java platform (framework covers various areas)
  • Kestrel Web Server can hold a candle to Go in terms of speed
