Migusto app: all Migros recipes in your pocket

Mise en place

We started with a workshop and a proof of concept to connect all the required systems and identify technical challenges at an early stage. Migros' technical landscape is not for amateur chefs: The app accesses eight different peripheral systems. This means we can also show which ingredients are currently in action in your favorite recipe.

That was just the beginning

The goal was an MVP. After all, if the main course stops, there's no need for a five-course meal. So the first priority was to deliver an app with the basic functions: You find the recipe and can cook it. No one praises a good search, but without it, everything is nothing. There are plenty of ideas for new functions. But we'd much rather have feedback from the kitchens - to develop the app as it is needed.

The technology

We implemented the Migusto recipe app with Flutter. This is perfect for native apps: multiple platforms, a single code base.

The API

A recipe search has to be one thing above all: really fast. And be right. But how exactly does the Migusto API work?

The CMS

The editorially maintained content lives in a content management system - Contentful. This allows the editorial team to regularly add new Migros recipes.
