SPILO: Find playgrounds near you with ease

Customer

Spielpi! is what your child wants. But you don't know your way around the area. Your child doesn't care. PLAYPI!!! Discussion over, the next item on the program is set. You know from experience what happens otherwise. Now it's time to find the next playground as quickly as possible. Together with the canton of St.Gallen, we have developed SPILO - the playground finder.

To the SPILO

We started with this

Climbing, running and romping around are very important for children's development and the promotion of coordination skills. Playgrounds with climbing frames and sandpits are ideal for this. Barbecue areas encourage family get-togethers. Less well known are facilities such as pump tracks. A central platform for the various offers has been lacking until now, as the data is scattered and located in the municipalities.

This is what we have made of it

A lean and fast progressive web app allows users to find playgrounds and other adventures nearby. The data is collected from the various municipalities and maintained centrally in a headless CMS. In a speedboat, we turned an idea into an easy-to-use platform with its own brand and a convincing UX concept within 30 days.

Easily explained

  • From idea to app in 30 days
  • Active support in brainstorming and conception
  • Simple management and normalization of data
  • Fast releases and installation of the app thanks to PWA
  • Designed for easy operation so that you have one hand free for the baby carriage

Spilo 2.0

Good things need to be updated

Three years later, Spilo is still working perfectly and has made many children and parents happy. But new insights and requirements have also been added: The pump tracks are difficult to find. The map could be even more intuitive to use. The filters could be better integrated into the search. And a contact form would simplify the process.

Secret ingredient Iterations

Because we, as agile-agilists, are fans of iterations, we have adapted the plan to take account of the new requirements and doubled down where it is most useful to users: map in the center, search field more prominent, detailed information at the edge where it can be pulled up as a tab - a layout that is already familiar from map apps.

Well-groomed wins

Thanks to the new Spilo, you and your child can get to the playground even faster. The new layout combines everything on the same page without compromising on functionality: more prominent map, more powerful search and integrated detailed view. A beauty makeover rounds off the whole thing: More intuitive map operation thanks to optimized clustering and color design, optimized image sizes and pump tracks as filters.
